  • Awards General Criteria

    • Chamber members may nominate themselves.

    • The Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce is committed to follow up on all nominations.

    • All nominees must be an active employee with a business or be an active business that is a member in good standing with the Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce.

    • Members with current representation on the Wetaskiwin Chamber Board of Directors do not qualify for nomination.Members with current representation on the Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber Board of Directors do not qualify for nomination; however, employees may qualify for individual awards.

    • Businesses and/or individuals may only win in one award category.

    • Previous nominees/winners can be nominated in the same category as years past.

     

    Awards Categories

    Business of the Year

    This award recognizes a business of 6+ employees that shows some or all of the following:         

    • Innovation and creativity in business (sales, marketing, diversification, products/services)

    • Proven business growth (employees, markets, locations)

    • Outstanding business accomplishments/awards

    • Active involvement in community and industry (charities, community groups, non-profits, business/professional associations)

     

    Small Business of the Year

    This award recognizes a small business of 1-5 employees that shows some or all of the following:         

    • Innovation and creativity in business (sales, marketing, diversification, products/services)

    • Proven business growth (employees, markets, locations)

    • Outstanding business accomplishments/awards; and

    • Active involvement in community and industry (charities, community groups, non-profits, business/professional associations)

     

    Non-Profit of the Year

    This award recognizes a non-profit or charity that shows some or all of the following:         

    • Innovation and creativity in operations (sales, marketing, fundraising, services)

    • Demonstrations of contributions to the community or target

    • Proven sustainability and/or growth of your organization

    • Outstanding accomplishments/awards

     

    Customer Service of the Year

    This award recognizes an individual who shows some or all of the following:

    • Creative ideas to improve current customer service

    • Demonstrations of going above and beyond standard customer service

    • Evidence of success in attracting customers or repeat business due to customer service

    • Proven problem solving to create positive customer experiences

     

    Employer of the Year

    This award recognizes a business that shows some or all of the following:         

    • Ensuring employees’ knowledge of the business’ brand and culture

    • Examples of promoting a respectful, inclusive, and diverse workplace

    • Demonstrations of providing training, growth opportunities and benefits to staff

    • Encouraging staff to have an active involvement in community and industry (charities, community groups, non-profits, business/professional associations)

    This award recognizes an employee who shows some or all of the following:
